AXA Gulf appoints new Chief Executive Officer

Paul Adamson will take over from Cédric Charpentier, the current CEO of AXA Gulf, who has decided to leave the AXA Group after 22 years.

AXA Insurance Gulf has appointed Paul Adamson as the new Chief Executive Officer and he’s expected to continue overseeing AXA’s operations in Saudi Arabia.

AXA stated that subject to regulatory approval, Adamson should take up his new role with effect from 1 November 2019.

Adamson joined AXA in 2005 and is currently the Managing Director of AXA Cooperative in Saudi Arabia and has over 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry.

Additionally, the incoming CEO of AXA Gulf led the listing and floatation of AXA on Tadawul in 2010 and since joining AXA, Adamson has held various senior positions across the region.

Benoît Claveranne, the CEO of AXA International & New Markets, said, “Paul enjoys an extensive knowledge of the region and he has delivered significant successes during his time in the region, I am confident that he and his team will continue to achieve great things.”
